Pasadena, CA for 5,000 homeless people.
Spy Kids and TV hit sitcom Friends cast appeared.

there. The nonprofit fed 5,000 homeless people
in the city park. They do also on Christmas Day.

Mc Quade is the past president of the national Entertainment Publicists Professional Society (EPPS) as President. McQuade has served as an EPPS board member for the last six years writing articles for the www.odwyerpr.com, NY and the EPPS Connections newsletter. He was has also been EPPS official photographer for events and workshops at the International Cinematographers Union auditorium in Hollywood, CA.

Mc Quade is a national member, and an activie Public Relations  Society of America member of the Los Angeles Chapter, where he served three years on the board heading the PRSA publicity committee.

George is an award-winning entertainment, and corporate communications expert. He is also a, journalist and multimedia public relations specialist. He is an advanced Social Media Pro with a high social media influence. Since 2000, McQuade has been the West Coast Correspondent for Jack O'Dwyer Publications (www.odwyerpr.com), an inside look on publicity, public relations, marketing communications and agencies in the U.S.

George is supervises day to day operations, public affairs and media relations at MAYO Communications, a public relations and publicity firm he cofounded.

In 1998, George launched Linux Mandrake Operating Software on the same day RedHat (1st distributor) went public. Stocks skyrocketed from $9 a share to $109 in two hours. Linux was awarded the "Product of the Conference" and "Product of the Year," at the San Jose Conference.

McQuade has been behind and in front of the camera for more than a decade. He has covered high-profile court cases such as the Zsa Zsa Gabor Cop slapping trial, to the attempted murder trial of Actress Theresa Saldana and Charles Keating and Michael Milken trials. He also covered disasters from California earthquakes to wildfires, LA Riots.

George is a past member of the Southern California Radio and TV News Association and Motor Press Guild. 
Mc Quade has 10 years of award-winning TV and radio news experience. He is a former Cub Scout Leader, Past President of Woodside South Homeowners Association, and West Valley P
olice Block Watch Captain (10 yrs.).  

Mc Quade received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with a double major in broadcast communications/journalism, from Western Washington University, Bellingham. He is a nationally acclaimed photographer, and received his technical training at the U.S. Naval School of Photography, where he was given a secret clearance in the USNR and was stationed at Whidbey Island, Wa.

His first job in the public relations arena was as a media consultant for the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). Previously, George worked in the SoCal Gas Company's news bureau handling media relations and crisis communications, including the 1994 Northridge earthquake, which destroyed
his home.

Chief Al Cowen, of City of Los Angeles Paramedics (now retired) once said McQuade should have been a fireman.
In 1994 he revived his youngest son with CPR after the infant stopped breathing.

Exactly three years later, McQuade rescued a noted cardiovascular radiologist doctor from his burning vehicle after it crashed into a tree in front of the house next door.

The City of Los Angeles called him a hero, the California Firefighters gave him one of 50 top awards including a "Medal of Honor" for saving the doctor's life.

"I just did what I would hope everyone should do, and that is lend a helping hand when a fellow citizen is in trouble. I didn't think twice and only had seconds to act before the SUV the doctor was trapped in exploded into a fireball," said McQuade.


MAYO Communications is often called in to do major media relations campaign, and social media like the First Annual Noble Awards show spotlighting celebrities for noble community projects. Actor Morgan Freeman received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

MAYO Communications launches another successful event. Hydra Executives, a new reality TV show pitting eight Brits and eight Americans vying for a $1 million prize. The show airs in March on Showtime, and filmed on location in Abu Dhabi.

Mc Quade is no stranger to public affairs and
entertainment publicity. More than a decade ago
he helped organize and publicize several of Stevie
Wonder’s benefit concerts for STITCHES
Technology
, a South Central LA nonprofit
that taught disadvantaged residents how to
design clothes on computers.

Last fall and this winter he represented Whittaker Bay, which was a group of actors from the best of teen dramas such as Beverly Hills 91210, One Tree Hill to USA TEEN HIGH, Palmetto Pointe and an award-winning child actress.

From 1989-92, McQuade was a network correspondent for NBC Mutual News and ABC Entertainment News Network covering everything from the Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's cop slapping trial to the Barbara Streisand first benefit concert in 20 years for a fundraiser for President Clinton in Beverly Hills, CA.

McQuade also was a writer for the 1st 90-minuteToday In LA Weekends, KNBC-TV, Burbank, that included copy for Entertainment Anchor/Reporter David Sheehan. Sheehan, who retired in 2003, was the first entertainment reviewer-reporter on any local news program. Additionally, McQuade reported on high profile stories for AP, UPI, CBS, KFI and KNX, Los Angeles.

He is currently vice president and co-founder of MAYO Communications, a full service national publicity firm with offices in San Diego and New York. He has earned many journalism awards from Radio TV News Association of SoCal, Associated Press TV and Radio Association and Public Relations Society of America.

McQuade received a Medal of Valor in 1998 from the California State Firefighters Association and a hero’s award from the Los Angeles City Council for rescuing a noted UCLA cardiologist from his burning vehicle in Tarzana, CA. McQuade is married with two sons and resides in Los Angeles, CA.

George was also one of the two original writers for KNBC's "Today In LA," Los Angeles' first 90-minute weekend newscast.

In 1998, George was awarded "Best Crisis Communications" and "Best Web Site" awards from both the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Los Angeles chapters.

McQuade also took charge of successful employee communications and environmental campaigns for the minority diversity division, which included updates on community earthquake repair, natural gas vehicles, fuel cells, and environmental remediation and cleanup projects. From 1995-1999, he was director of public relations at the Housing Authority for the city of Los Angeles, where he assisted the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development in creating political and media support for multifamily, Section 8 and low-income housing projects.

Prior to joining Stoorza, Lai headed the communications efforts for the Wisconsin Area Health Education Center (AHEC) System. 
With Wisconsin AHEC, he handled
media relations and internal communications, produced a quarterly statewide newsletter and gave the organization its first presence on the World Wide Web.  Lai also previously worked for the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles’ public relations department writing and editing news releases, annual reports, employee newsletters and shooting photography of external and internal events.

Dan Lai is an account executive in the Medical, Life Science and Technology Division of MAYO Communications. He is based in San Diego, CA, where
his wife is a general physician. Lai’s background in public relations includes non-profit and federally funded organizations as well as agency experience.  He has strategically implemented regional and national public relations and marketing campaigns for clients in the healthcare and biomedical fields.
