Promote “Catharsis” at a New York Film Festival

MAYO hired to create a buzz for the short drama film debut at
the NewFilmMakers Event this Fall in New York

LOS ANGELES, June 23, 2008MAYO Communications, an award-winning full service entertainment PR firm in Los Angeles has been hired by Silver To Rust Productions, Pasadena, CA, to promote a short debut film entitled, “Catharsis.” The movie will be shown at the NewFilm Makers Festival, September 2, 2008, New York.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to present this film in a public forum,” said Executive Producer David Joshua Smith, Silver to Rust Productions, Pasadena.

The short film, “Catharsis” will be viewed at 6:00 p.m. at an event called NewFilmmakers presents another night at the movies in New York. The movie is a love story.

“’Catharsis’ takes the audience through an emotional situation of love, regret, desire, betrayal, life, death in the complexities of relationships and what they signify to us,” explained Smith, who wrote, directed and produced the movie.
“I invite the audience to explore the mysteries and the emotions that is “Catharsis.”’ It stars Will Lutardus, Tara Battani and Ashley Brooks. The director of photography is Randy Arnold.

Smith grew up in Chatham, NJ and graduated from Ithaca College in New York State. After graduation, in 1996, he moved to Los Angeles to further his film aspirations. After spending a year in production doing production assistant and assistant director work for a variety of features, including the movie Titanic, he transitioned into the area of post production by accepting a job at the company Rushes in Los Angeles. Smith owns Silver To Rust Productions.
