***

Dr. Rick Collingwood, an Australian hypnotherapist, who plans to visit the America next month, will reveal his unique hypnotherapy that has helped hundreds of people manage pain. His first stop is in LA and then arrives in New York on the anniversary of  9-11.

NY & Hollywood, CA A National Cancer Institute study says using hypnosis before breast cancer surgery cut down the amount of anesthesia administered, the level of pain reported after the operation, which reduced the time and cost of the procedure. This comes as no surprise to Australian Phenomenon Dr. Rick Collingwood, a renowned hypnotism trainer, who is on tour in America to share his breakthroughs in hypnotherapy.

“Much of the pain suffered by cancer patients and people who suffered from depression and insomnia can be managed and treated with hypnosis,” said Australian Hypnotherapist Dr. Rick Collingwood, a pioneer in hypnotherapy, who plans to visit America in September with his first stop in Los Angeles (Sept. 5-9,2007) and New York ( Sept. 11-13, 2007). “My unique hypnosis therapy skills helps cure everything from alcoholism to obesity, however most of my patients are cancer victims, who need to manage pain.”

Mount Sinai School of Medicine in
New York and colleagues conducted the Cancer Institute’s study clinical trial to examine the effects of hypnosis when it is given within one hour before surgery. Some 200 women were randomly assigned to either 15 minutes of hypnosis by a psychologist or a control session in which they spoke with a psychologist. Guy Montgomery, Ph.D., of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and his researchers then compared the use of pain medications and sedatives during surgery, as well as the levels of pain and other side effects reported afterwards.

The hypnosis session began with suggestions for pleasant visual imagery and relaxation. The patients were also given suggestions on how to reduce pain, nausea, and fatigue, and instructions on how to use hypnosis on their own. Patients in the control group needed more anesthesia than patients in the hypnosis group. Members of the hypnosis group also reported less pain, nausea, fatigue, and discomfort after surgery. They spent nearly 11 minutes less time in surgery, and their operations were reduced by about $773 per patient, because of the time savings.

One of the series of CDs Dr. Collingwood has sold entitled, “Mind Body Healing” is formatted to create positive healing connections and to bring your body into harmony with your subconscious mind, which regulates all of the healing mechanisms of the body. “Your subconscious mind is like the hard drive on your computer, it often performs millions of functions in your body, even while you sleep,” he said.

Collingwood has been successful with his hypnosis CDs, too. About 60 percent of his patients noticed a difference when they played the CDs encouraging them to lay off the food intake. They play the CDs 45 minutes a day, six days a week.
