RE:          Media Report: “Intn’l Trade Trends & Impacts,andChina and Los Angeles County: Growing Together reports

Below is a summary of the various media outreach activities MAYO Communications & MAYO PR conducted to promote the embargoed Intn’l Trade Trends & Impacts,andChina and Los Angeles County: Growing Together reports and May 12, 2010, Long Beach, CA event. Despite May television sweeps month and competing stories, MAYO earned excellent national and SoCal media coverage.

 

Media coverage included:

BROADCAST MEDIA

·        CNN Radio Network – Conducted advanced interviews set up by MAYO in advance of the event and embargoed reports airing the international trade stories on the day of the event. CNN Headline TV news plans to interview Jack Kyser.

·        KNX 1070 AM News interviewed Dr. Nancy Sidhu and Jack Kyser airing a story on the morning of the embargo. They also sent a reporter to cover the event. KNX news aired the story in the morning. Host Frank Mottek also aired stories highlighting the event and trade outlook on the Business Hour and for afternoon newscasts. Trade stories were posted on its website www.KNX.com.

·        KFWB 980 AM News aired a series of stories in the morning and afternoon. The story was also posted on the KFWB website at: www.kfwb.com. KFWB 980 AM is the number one all news radio station, has three million listeners in drive time.

·        KFI 640 AM – Air stories from our news alerts and City News Service reports we sent earlier and on the morning of the event.  The 50,000 watt talk format station is the most powerful radio station west of the Mississippi. Stories also posted on www.KFI.com.

·        KTLA-TV Ch. 5 called us about 6 a.m. and wanted to know if we could get a guest down to the Port of LA. The reporter and crew were doing live shots from that area on the trade reports. It was physically impossible, because everyone was headed to the event in Long Beach, however it might be a good venue in the future for a study on trade as its is very visual there. KTLA broadcast live shots and used cover video utilizing our info for the stories all day on all of their newscasts. It is the number one indep. TV station owned by WB.

·        KNBC-TV Ch. 4 ran readers on the trade study results on morning Today In LA and evening news on the day of the event.

·        KABC-TV – aired voices overs quoting Jack Kyser in the stories

NEWSPAPERS & TRADES

·        Los Angeles Times- Interviewed Jack Kyser and published the trade story on the day of the event.  Also, the writer produced another story on the ports using LAEDC study info, but did not credit us for it in the business section. Additionally, the story was posted Online www.LATimes.com. Cir. 700,000+

·        Orange County Register called in advanced to write a story in the business section. The Orange County Register is the largest of 28 daily newspapers operated by Freedom Communications, Inc. The Register also publishes 23 weekly newspapers, including the Spanish-language newspaper, Excelsior, three magazines, and myOC.com, the local Orange County internet Web portal. ·        Los Angeles Daily News (circ: 200,570) business editor conducted interviews with LAEDC staff and Founding Economist Jack Kyser and much like last year published the advanced story on the front page of the newspaper, but with a photo. LA Daily News is a member of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group.  The story was posted on its website www.dailynews.com. The Los Angeles Newspaper Group, which has a circulation of more than one million (8 newspaper members.)

·        LA Opinion- A business writer for LA Opinion call on the day of the interviewed Jack Kyser and Nancy Sidhu to produce a business story May 13, the next day. LA Opinion is the largest and most influential Spanish newspaper in the Country.

·        LA Weekly- Published a story on the day of the event quoting Dr. Nancy Sidhu only.

·        Reuters Wire Service – Reuters ran our reports on the trade study and more than half dozen various updated regional headlines and financial highlights from the study throughout the day. Reuters offers 24-hour coverage of global happenings for professionals around the world. Reuters is available on the World Wide Web at http://www.reuters.com. Circ. is in the millions of financial readers.

·        City News Wire Services put out news advisories several times on its weekly calendar and daily updates leading up to the May 12th event.  CNS published numerous news advisories, and MAYO faxed and emailed updates to them.    They also wrote 400+ word wire story for their subscription members on the LAEDC trade study and China Report, which distributed on the morning of the event on the CNS circuit wire service for metro TV, radio and print media.  

·        LA Business Journal published a story the day of the event on its breaking news website. The LABJ is a company oriented 50+ page tabloid focusing on breaking news and business trends mostly about LA. Circulation ranges from 20 – 50K.

·        San Fernando Valley Business Journal also called us to interview Jack Kyser with the SFV business angle.  San Fernando Valley Business Journal is available on the World Wide Web at http://www.sfvbj.com. Cir: 10,300.

·        Automotive News, Detroit – an LA writer for the national publication RSVP and attended the event since BYD had a speaker she was really interested in covering the event on the auto side of trade.

·        Journal of Commerce - Journal of Commerce published a story on the day of the embargoed event. It is a weekly magazine published in the United States that focuses on trade topics. Circulation is about 20,000+

·        San Gabriel Valley Tribune’s published a story on the day of the event in the business section. SGV belongs to the LA Newspaper Group. circ: 47,300

·        The Press Enterprise interviewed Jack Kyser for the embargoed story and published the story on the morning of Wed., May 12th. Total Circ: 190,773.

·        Pasadena Star News interviewed Jack Kyser and staff in advance of the event
and published the story on event day May 12th. Circ: 34,700.

·        Daily Breeze interviewed Jack Kyser on the Forecast and event and published the story May 12th.  Cir: 65,750. Daily Breeze is a daily newspaper published for  
residents of
Torrance, CA. The newspaper covers local news, sports and weather.
Daily Breeze is available Online at www.dailybreeze.com. 

·        Long Beach Press Telegram - Published advanced items notice of the event,
attended and interviewed Jack Kyser and Dr. Nancy Sidhu for more upcoming
stories, and published trade results on May 12th. LB Press produced two stories.
The story was also published on its web site.

·        San Bernardino Sun News interviewed Jack Kyser in advance of embargoed story and published it the day of the event. Additionally, it was also posted Online.

·        San Gabriel Valley News interviewed Jack Kyser in advance of embargoed story and published it also May 12th. The story was also published in several LA
Newspaper Group papers. The article was also Online.

·        California Apparel News Debra Belgium did not attend, but called us later in the day. We set up an interview with Jack Kyser and Nancy for an article pending.

·        Journal of Commerce interviewed Jack Kyser and published the story May 12th. It was also posted Online at www.joc.com/.

·        China Daily News   The writer Derral Chen rsvp to attend and interview Jack Kyser and staff for advance story and follow up stories on the day of the event May 12th.The China Daily News is the largest Chinese Newspaper in the country.

·        Taiwan Daily’s called for info and RSVP for the event to published story mainly on the China Report and LA County.

·        Jiji Press – writer Hideo Koizumi RSVP and we connected him with studies and NR before the event. He works out of the Jiji Press LA bureau

·        Yomiuri Shimbun, New York MAYO set up an interview with Van Baugham as Nancy and Jack were busy doing other interviews. This is the first year this global Japanese American publication has covered LAEDC events.

·        Sing Tao Newspapers (LA), Ltd. writer interviewed Jack Kyser and Nancy Sidhu for its publication, which has a circulation of 30,000 and is owned by Sing Tao - newspaper in Hong Kong, China at MondoTimes.com

      MAYO Communications staff will keep our eyes peeled for additional media placement. The above is only highlights of most of the coverage, there are likely numerous news websites and possible other publication yet to published the stories. We’ll keep you posted.
